People from around Metro Manila got a taste of extremely low fares as #AirAsiaInManila surprise booths were put up with roundtrip tickets for as low as day to day prices of consumer goods.

AirAsia Philippines CEO Captain Dexter Comendador said, “We appreciate our guests who have continued to fly with us and we want to let everyone know that we are here to give unparalleled low fares for anyone who wants to travel.”

At the MRT-3 Ayala Station, airport sounds coming from the speakers at MRT-3 Ayala Station indicated the start of AirAsia offering extremely low promo fares. Instead of choosing destinations from stations in the MRT line, passengers were able to check out travel destinations around Asia.



AirAsia opened its surprise ticketing booth at the station revealing travel destinations with prices the same as one train ride. Aside from seeing security guards waiting to check bags, AirAsia flight attendants were waiting at the ticketing counter offering different destinations.


Domestic and international flights coming were given away with fares for as 
low as P15

Some of the passengers going in and out from Ayala Station were lucky enough to get their hands on unexpected ticket sales with affordable domestic and international flights.

Roundtrip fares given away at the station include local travels to Cebu for Php 15; Iloilo Php 15; Tagbilaran for Php 20; Puerto Princesa for Php 20; and Davao for Php 25. International travels include Kaohsiung for Php 25; Taipei for Php 25; Kuala Lumpur for Php 30; Kota Kinabalu for Php 30; and Bangkok for Php 30.

Shoppers at Super8 Grocery Warehouse in Ortigas were caught off guard as airport sound effects revealed another surprise booth with snacks wrapped in AirAsia packaging concealing the different travel destinations. Customers had the chance to buy ticket fares as affordable as brownies, chips, and chocolate.

Roundtrip fares given away at Super8 include local travels to Cebu for Php 30; Iloilo Php 30; Bohol for Php 40; Tacloban for Php 40; and Davao for Php 50. International travels include Hong Kong for Php 50; Taipei for Php 50; Kuala Lumpur for Php 60; Bali for Php 60; and Bangkok for Php 60.

20 domestic and 20 international flights coming from Manila were given away to shoppers and commuters with fares for as low as P15 for domestic flights and P25 for international flights.

“Just because you’re on a tight budget, doesn’t mean you can’t travel to breathtaking destinations.” Comendador shared. “This only proves our commitment in providing Filipino’s the opportunity to travel at low cost with only the best quality service.”

In Japan, the blooming of cherry blossoms is one of the most anticipated times of the year as it marks the coming of Spring – a time of new beginnings. The breath-taking sight of cherry trees tinted with the pale pink haze symbolizes beauty, life, and renewal.

This year, Starbucks also embraces the changing of the seasons with new Springtime favorites inspired by Cherry Blossom. The Azuki Blossom Cream Frappuccino® is as dreamy as a Spring day in Japan with its velvety milk and sweet red bean base, topped with whipped cream, falling petals of white and pink rice blossom petals, and tart dried cranberry bits.

Starbucks also offers a green tea variation with the Matcha Azuki Blossom Cream Frappuccino® which blends the bright flavors of Matcha and sweet red bean. This cherry blossom treat is also sprinkled with pink and white rice petals and cranberry bits on top of whipped cream and red beans.

Aside from delightful cherry blossom beverages, stunning Sakura-themed merchandise is also ripe for the picking in Starbucks stores. With a dainty palette of pink, purple, and gold, the collection depicts two kinds of cherry blossoms, inspired by traditional hand drawings and oil paintings that captures its beauty.

Some items from the collection include double-walled mugs with rubber lids in Blossom Pink and in Blossom Gray with Sakura motifs, tumblers like the clear Cold Cup designed with a sprinkling confetti blossom and complemented with a lid and straw, and even adorable Bearista Bear Keychains in pastel pink.



Complete the collection with the 2019 Sakura Card, designed to show the delicateness of the Cherry Blossom’s pale pink petals. The card is available for an initial activation amount of Php300 per card.

Starting March 12, customers who purchase any of the two featured beverages can experience Cherry Blossom at Starbucks. Customers simply need to scan the QR code that can be found in each cup when they purchase either a Matcha Azuki Blossom Cream Frappuccino® or an Azuki Blossom Cream Frappuccino®. After scanning the QR code, they will need to locate the banner with the Cherry Blossom to trigger the AR experience.
