Imagine being in an emergency situation. The clinic, pharmacy, or grocery is less than 10 minutes from where you are. No traffic, no delay, no time wasted.

Imagine needing to relax and enjoy simple joys in the new normal like getting a nature bath or dining al fresco.

Imagine going on dates again while enjoying the fresh air.

SMDC South 2 Residences in Las Piñas City takes all these from the imagination and brings them to life. The sprawling development is situated in the SM Southmall Lifestyle Complex where life’s essentials can be had in less than 15 minutes’ walk. If you work outside the area, transport terminals are strategically located so you only need to walk and take one ride.

Here are 5 good reasons for choosing a home at South 2 Residences:

#1: The world at your fingertips, safely

Shop, dine, play, have your clothes altered, take driving lessons or have a medical check-up at the mall’s 300+ retail shops just outside your home. SM Southmall and tenants strictly adhere to IATF protocols so you can move around with ease. SM malls implement Trace Together, a one-QR-Code-for-all that enables the mall and all its establishments to share customer information simply by scanning the QR code when a customer enters the store or restaurant.

#2: We’ve got it all … for every resident!
Cannot go out of your unit to make your purchases? Senior? PWD? Got your hands tied? Not a problem.

SM Southmall gives a special rate to SMDC South 2 residents for the personal shopper program. Get anything and everything at your convenience through smsouthmall.com/pasabuy. Order, confirm, and receive items on the same day.

Imagine having an international chef cooking for your guests right in your backyard!

#4: Wellness all week, all around
Like any SMDC property, your South 2 Residences home gives you full access to resort-themed amenities fit for kids and adults; vast, open spaces where you can enjoy fresh air and spend outdoor activities both for your physical and mental health, and where you can enjoy social activities with family, friends and neighbors.

#4: Help the planet by living sustainably
Living beside a mall that has medical facilities, groceries, dining and recreation choices, al fresco landscape areas, a paw park, a joggers’ path, and everything you need means less fuel expense. Enjoying the outdoors – whether it be in South 2 Residences’ vast, open spaces, or in the Complex’s joggers’ area – allows you to not just save on utility bills but also helps you become a good steward of the Earth with less carbon footprint.

AirAsia calls for standardised global protocols to facilitate cross border air travel recovery

As vaccines continue to roll out across the globe and domestic air travel looks set to return to pre-Covid levels in the near future, AirAsia joins a number of leading aviation and tourism experts, in calling for a standardised approach to travel protocols to help kickstart the international air travel revival.

AirAsia Group President, Airlines, Bo Lingam says “Covid-19 has left a severe impact on everyone and particularly on the travel and hospitality industries. In order to resume cross border travel activity effectively and safely, a mutually agreed global framework approach is needed.

Travel requirements in the region are currently complex and uncoordinated and travel bubbles are limited and underutilised. While we welcome the implementation of certain travel passes which are currently being developed or in testing phases, what is needed to stimulate international air travel again, is coordination among countries. The travel and tourism industry must work together with one consistent set of protocols and procedures for guests such as testing and vaccination requirements, coupled with a mutually agreed common digital health pass and with the expansion of travel bubbles to include the leisure sector.

Resuming air travel is a collective effort. By working together we will be in a much better position to welcome the return of international flying in the not too distant future, delivering a much needed boost to the global economy.”

His comments follow a recent AirAsia review of Covid-19 procedures and protocols in regional countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, China and Australia. The review confirms that existing travel requirements vary across Asean countries, making it challenging and difficult for travellers to understand and follow. The different travel protocols across regional countries also pose operational difficulties to airlines and travel operators. Without common travel protocols, manual verification of health and travel documents becomes more time consuming and is prone to error and fraud, especially with an increase in the use of fake health certification.

Furthermore, with 40%-50% of the regional population expected to be vaccinated by the third quarter of 2021, travel policies should be updated regularly to reflect the current situation including the possible removal of quarantine requirements. A good example is in the Philippines where they have recently standardised all the travel requirements in the country and removed the ones that are no longer relevant,” said Bo.

The report also concludes that travel bubbles that are currently implemented in the region are mostly limited to business and essential travellers only. Business travellers are less likely to provide a much needed boost to the tourism industry as the majority of corporate meetings can now be conducted online. A key recommendation is for the expansion of travel bubbles for leisure travellers to be implemented in phases starting with destinations in safe zones. Facilitating leisure travel will provide instant impact based on strong pent up demand. Furthermore travel risk can be minimised through implementation of strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and various measures including point to point controlled travel, fixed itineraries and contact tracing apps.

AirAsia recently announced its latest innovation Scan2Fly, which enables guests to scan and upload their medical documentation during the online check in process to confirm they are approved to fly in real time, before heading to the airport. Scan2Fly was rolled out ahead of globally approved digital passports to support AirAsia’s goal of providing a Covid safe and fully contactless travel experience. Scan2Fly can be seamlessly integrated into other globally approved platforms from different countries, relating to Covid-19 and vaccine solutions.

AirAsia is also soon commencing the roll out biometric facial recognition technology across key ports, launching in Malaysia’s klia2 from April as it continues to develop new products and services to make flying more hygenic and seamless.

‘BLACKPINK: THE SHOW’ reinvents the concert experience for BLINKs worldwide

While live concerts were put to a stop by the pandemic, that didn’t hinder international K-Pop group BLACKPINK from entertaining BLINKs worldwide! The music powerhouse recently launched its first-ever livestream concert entitled THE SHOW, sponsored by Globe. BLINKs were able to get a reinvented concert experience featuring Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose at their best!

The livestream concert is part of Globe and BLACKPINK’s partnership under the telco’s newest campaign, Reinvent Your World, which empowers its customers to transform themselves in the digital world and open up to new and exciting possibilities, like THE SHOW for example, with Globe as their partner.

Kicking off the show with their 2019 hit Kill This Love, BLACKPINK gave a glimpse of what their world tour could have been if the pandemic was out of the picture. Complete with 10 different sets, spectacular and never-before-seen choreography, flashy costumes, and a full-on live ensemble, every BLINK watching at home surely felt like they were in the same venue as their idols.

BLACKPINK performed their hit songs

Whistle, Boombayah, Don’t Know What to Do, As If It’s Your Last,
and an electrifying and fiercer rendition of Ddu-Du Ddu-Du as they danced in shallow waters with fire in the background. Of course, THE SHOW was also an opportunity for BLACKPINK to perform some of the tracks on THE ALBUM live including How You Like That, Lovesick Girls, Love to Hate Me, and You Never Know.

Each member gifted BLINKs with a solo performance in between sets. Jisoo sang a stripped-back version of Tove Lo’s “Habits (Stay High)” wearing an immaculate floral gown; Lisa showed her rapping and dancing prowess with her own spin on Doja Cat’s “Say So;” Jennie served looks and talent as she performed a revamped version of her song, “Solo;” and Rose rivetingly unveiled her highly anticipated debut solo track “Gone”.

In one of the more tender moments of the show, a throwback clip was shown, presenting  BLACKPINK in an empty arena as they looked back at their first concert. “The concert was one of our big dreams. I was highly excited and I had high expectations. I think it was a very precious moment,” said Rose. “It was a tour that clearly showed us the relationship between BLACKPINK and BLINKs.”

The girls also addressed their fans in the video, expressing how much they miss performing in front of them and feeling their love through cheers and waves of lightsticks. “It’s been a while since we’ve met, so I hope we can all have fun [during THE SHOW],” added Lisa.

For their last song, BLACKPINK sang Forever Young as they were surrounded with messages sent by BLINKs from all parts of the world to close THE SHOW on a high, hopeful note. Fans took it to social media to express how they enjoyed the livestream concert with some even holding watch parties with their fellow BLINKs featuring BLACKPINK-themed snacks and decorations. Other BLINKs also wore their merch and took out their lightsticks to really get the feel of the concert experience.

Those with membership access to BLACKPINK’s YouTube channel who want to rewatch the concert will be able to do so over the next Sunday, February 14, at 2 AM, 10 AM, 3 PM and 8PM  (Philippine Time).

"Globe continues to provide its customers with a unique and reinvented experience through world-class partnerships -- such as the one with BLACKPINK -- together with a dependable and continuously-improving network, and access to the latest technology like 5G, LTE-Advanced Home Prepaid WiFi and Unli Fiber Plans. Indeed, Globe helps its subscribers reinvent their world amidst these challenging times," said Issa Guevarra-Cabreira, Globe's Chief Commercial Officer.

Right before the Christmas season, Landers partnered with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to launch its #UlyssesPHAid relief effort which provided donations to affected areas, where Landers members and non-members dropped off their donations at Landers branches in Metro Manila.  Donations included water, canned goods, clean clothes, slippers, personal hygiene items, face masks and shields, blankets, pillows, sleeping mats, noodles, milk, diapers, and over-the-counter medicines, among others. The relief effort has provided aid to a total of 1,591 families across calamity-affected areas. 600 families in Rodriguez and Tanay, Rizal, 500 families in Cagayan de Oro, and 491 families in Isabela were aided through the relief effort.

But even before the typhoon, Landers has already been reaching out to the community all year long. It started with the launch of Help Taal which provided aid to the victims of the Taal volcano eruption. Landers also initiated several efforts to help vulnerable families and communities during the COVID-19 lockdown. These include distribution of food packs to several hospitals, the Pantawid ng Pag-ibig partnership with ABS-CBN, and the Share the Hope campaign, among others.

Aside from these, Landers Superstore also made sure to inspire hope by hosting virtual events including Pray as One, and the Love, Landers virtual concert with Sarah Geronimo and Matteo Guidicelli.

With the start of the new year, everyone is optimistic that life will be back to normal this 2021. As many hold on to this hope, Landers will remain one with the community through all the prosperity and hardships that this year will bring.
